Press Release

On the 30th of March, currently, in the context of approval by the Government of the draft law on amending and supplementing certain legislative acts, namely the so - called "Big Brother" law aroused controversy in the society, therefore, the National Center for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Moldova (the Center) comes with the following clarifications:

Despite the provisions of the art. 21 paragraph (1) of the Law on legislative acts, the envisaged project was not sent for coordination to the national supervisory Authority for personal data processing, even though it addresses some restrictions of the right to intimate, family and private life.

Thus, the Center will present its position on the Moldovan Parliament’s draft law to be considered prior to parliamentary debates.

The Center’s opinion towards the above mentioned law will be published on the official web site of the Center and will be available at the link http://datepersonale.md/md/Avize/.
