NOTE: The GRIFFIN is a mythological creature, half eagle and half lion, which symbolizes authority, vigilance, quickness and power, and which protects gold or treasure. The privacy, which is a fundamental right of the person, is considered to be a treasure that belongs to every citizen. The griffin represented on the coat of arms of the Center symbolizes the defender of the citizens` privacy. The disk from the right claw symbolizes the personal data which are protected. The shield with the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Moldova on it, which the griffin is supporting with the left claw, means the fact that the Center is a public authority.
