Training course on personal data protection organized for representatives of the National Regulatory Agency for Communications
Today, 5 October, the National Center for Personal Data Protection (NCPDP) organised a training session on personal data protection for representatives of the National Regulatory Agency for Communications (ARCOM) of the Republic of Moldova.
The training session aimed to inform ARCOM employees about the new legislative provisions in the field of personal data protection introduced by Law No. 195/2024 on personal data protection, which entered into force on 23 August 2026.
The main topics covered during the training included the principles relating to the processing of personal data; data subjects’ rights; data protection impact assessment; prior consultation; the role of the data protection officer; cross-border transfer of personal data and other relevant topics.
During the session, the NCPDP trainer provided explanations and practical recommendations on the application of the new legal provisions, highlighting the importance of complying with personal data protection principles in the activities of organisations.
Practical examples and scenarios were also presented to facilitate understanding and the proper application of legal requirements, including the identification of risks to the rights and freedoms of data subjects and the adoption of appropriate measures to mitigate those risks.
The NCPDP encourages public and private entities to give greater attention to personal data protection and to ensure the continuous training of their employees in this field.
Organising these training sessions contributes to strengthening an institutional culture focused on respecting the right to privacy and protecting personal data.
The event was held in a hybrid format and was attended by 52 ARCOM employees.
