Representatives of the Northern Investigations Department of the National Investigations Inspectorate trained in the field of personal data protection
On February 17, 2026, the National Center for Personal Data Protection (NCPDP) organized a training course on personal data protection for employees of the Northern Investigations Department of the National Investigations Inspectorate. The activity was conducted in accordance with the Training Plan for the subdivisions of the General Police Inspectorate (GPI) for the year 2026, a plan approved and signed by the heads of the NCPDP and the GPI on January 28 of this year.
The main objective of the course was to strengthen participants’ theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the proper application of legislation in the field of personal data protection, particularly in the specific context of investigative activities and the processing of sensitive data.
The training was of particular importance to the employees of the Northern Investigations Department, given the large volume of personal data processed in their operational activities, as well as the need for strict compliance with the principles of lawfulness, proportionality, confidentiality and data security. At the same time, the course helped prevent risks of violating the rights of data subjects and increased the level of professional accountability.
The training covered topics such as:
- the fundamental principles of personal data protection;
- the legal grounds for data processing in investigative activities;
- the rights of data subjects and the obligations of data controllers;
- organizational and technical data security measures;
- practical examples and common situations encountered in day-to-day activities.
Following the training, participants strengthened their skills in the practical application of legal regulations, as well as their ability to correctly identify and manage situations involving the processing of personal data.
The NCPDP reaffirms its willingness and openness to continue organizing such training courses, which are considered essential for ensuring uniform practices that comply with current legislation, as well as for strengthening a culture of data protection within public authorities.
During the event, 20 representatives of the Northern Investigations Department of the National Investigations Inspectorate were trained.
