Training course on personal data protection organized for representatives of the Ministry of Justice

       On May 18, 2026, the National Center for Personal Data Protection (NCPDP) organized, at the request of the Ministry of Justice, a training course aimed at strengthening institutional capacity in the field of personal data protection and familiarizing participants with the new legislative regulations applicable in this area.

       The training was organized in the context of the implementation of the new Law No. 195/2024 on the personal data protection, which is set to enter into force on August 23, 2026, and which establishes a modernized regulatory framework, harmonized with European standards on data protection and respect for the right to privacy.

       The purpose of the training was to deepen participants’ awareness of the principles and requirements applicable to the processing of personal data, as well as to facilitate a practical understanding of the obligations of public authorities under the new legislative provisions. At the same time, the training aimed to foster a responsible and compliant institutional approach to the personal data processing process.

       The training sessions covered relevant topics regarding the fundamental principles of personal data processing, the legal grounds for processing, the rights of data subjects, the obligations of controllers and processors, technical and organizational security measures, as well as aspects related to institutional responsibility and accountability in the process of complying with the new legal requirements.

       Particular emphasis was placed on analyzing the provisions of Law No. 195/2024, including mechanisms for institutional accountability, the principle of accountability, documentation of processing operations, management of security incidents, notification of personal data breaches and the implementation of necessary measures to ensure an appropriate level of data protection.

       The training also examined practical aspects of the process of institutional adaptation to the new regulatory requirements, with relevant examples and situations from the work of public authorities being discussed. Participants had the opportunity to analyze the legal and operational challenges associated with the application of the relevant legislation, as well as ways to mitigate the risks associated with the personal data processing.

       The activity highlighted the importance of continuously strengthening training and awareness in the field of personal data protection, particularly in light of the new institutional obligations arising from the applicable regulatory framework. At the same time, the training helped develop the skills necessary to ensure the uniform and effective application of the relevant legislation.

       The NCPDP reaffirms its commitment to supporting public authorities and controllers in the process of implementing the new legislative provisions and will continue to carry out training, information and awareness-raising activities to promote an institutional culture based on respect for the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals regarding the personal data processing.

       During the event, 30 representatives of the Ministry of Justice were trained.
