Training course on personal data protection organized for representatives of the Southern Regional Directorate of the General Inspectorate of Border Police

       On May 14, 2026, the National Center for Personal Data Protection (NCPDP) organized a training course on personal data protection for representatives of the Southern Regional Directorate of the General Inspectorate of Border Police (GIBP). The event took place at the Directorate’s headquarters in the city of Cahul.

       The activity was organized as part of the 2026 training plan, approved by the heads of the NCPDP and the GIBP, with the aim of strengthening the professional capacities of employees regarding the correct and uniform application of personal data protection rules in the operational and administrative activities carried out by Border Police units.

       In the context of the duties performed by representatives of the Southern Regional Directorate of the GIBP, the training highlighted the importance of complying with the principles of lawfulness, confidentiality and accountability in the processing of personal data, particularly in situations involving the access, use and exchange of information through information systems and databases managed by public authorities.

       During the training, relevant topics related to the field of personal data protection were addressed, including the principles and legal grounds for data processing, the rights of data subjects, the security measures necessary to prevent unauthorized access to information, as well as the responsibilities of employees in the process of managing personal data while performing their job duties.

       At the same time, participants analyzed practical examples and situations encountered in their current professional activities, which contributed to a better understanding of the risks associated with the improper processing of personal data and effective ways to prevent security incidents.

       During the discussions, there was significant interest in issues related to the review of requests for the disclosure of personal data, lawful access to information through state information systems and the need to ensure the traceability of such access.

       By organizing such training activities, the NCPDP continues to contribute to the development of an institutional culture based on respect for the right to privacy and the protection of personal data, as well as to the strengthening of the professional competencies of employees within the General Inspectorate of Border Police.

       During the event, approximately 100 representatives of the Southern Regional Directorate of the GIBP were trained.
